Life: From Genesis to Eternity - Finding Eternal Happiness Through the Bible
How can you define life after reading the Bible?
Defining Life: A Continuous Path to Everlasting Happiness
Every life carries significant value in the eyes of God. However, no individual is compelled to serve Him; instead, every person holds the freedom to make such a choice on their own accord. This autonomy is fundamental to the Christian faith. So, if one desires a life of unending joy and happiness, they must opt to love Jehovah, the God of all. As stated in the Bible, the sovereignty of God extends beyond human comprehension, ensuring that life forever remains a gift from Him, the living God, the source of all life (Jer 10:10, Da 6:20, 26, Joh 6:57, 2Co 3:3, 6:16, 1Th 1:9, 1Ti 1:17, Ps 36:9, Jer 17:13).
The Creation of Life
Jehovah God, being the Creator, kickstarted the creation of life by His Son, the Word (Joh 1:1-3, Col 1:15). Through this divine Son, other living beings including angels came into existence (Job 38:4-7, Col 1:16, 17). Later, the universe itself was formed, and on the third day of creation, the first forms of life—grass, vegetation, and fruit trees—appeared. By the sixth day, marine life, birds, land animals, and finally, man were brought into the world (Ge 1:11-13, 20-23, 24-31, Ac 17:25).
Life, Soul, and Breath
Life found on Earth did not emerge through random chemical combinations but was directly ordained by Jehovah God. This command was carried out by His Son, ensuring that only life brings forth other forms of life. The Bible clearly states that every creation brought forth offspring resembling its kind, demonstrating the principle of 'kinds' (Ge 1:12, 21, 25, 5:3). Contemporary science has corroborated this, finding that life forms display distinct discontinuities, posing significant challenges to the theory of evolution (KIND).
Furthermore, earthly creatures possess both an active 'life force' or 'spirit' and breath. Both these elements are provisions from God, who controls life by granting or withholding these gifts (Ps 104:29, Isa 42:5). During the Great Flood, both animals and humans perished as their breath ceased, extinguishing the force of life (Ge 7:22).
Jesus as the Way to Life
The life-bringing journey, as described in the Bible, is fully put into action through Jesus, who served as the model of eternal life for humanity (Joh 14:6, 17:3). Just as one can only plant a tree if they possess a similar seed, believers must accept Jesus, the 'seed of righteousness,' to receive eternal life. Herein lies the crucial choice: whether one chooses to follow Jesus and accept His righteousness as their life-giving source.
The Choice and Faith
Emails serve as a constant reminder of the importance of faith and the opportunity to choose whether one wants to live based on secular values or the eternal principles of the Christian faith. This choice is pivotal, as the Bible underscores that by loving God, one can attain inestimable joy and happiness, far surpassing the fleeting pleasures of the world (Mat 13:44-46).
Conclusion
Life's true essence and joy are found in loving God and continually choosing to follow His path. The Bible offers a definitive guide to understanding life's purpose, emphasizing the importance of faith and the continuous choice to serve God. Embracing this truth can lead to a life of eternal happiness and fulfillment.
