I guess that this is the same as an Army Brat. A child of someone who serves in one of the branches of the armed services lives in the military compound and moves around the country whenever the serving parent moves.

I am guessing that this is the equivalent of what in the UK we call ‘a forces brat’ i.e. the child of someone serving in the armed forces and likely to have an upbringing that involves moving around a lot. The concept of a 'defence brat' shares significant parallels with the term 'forces brat,' denoting children who grow up within military families and experience frequent relocations.

Career military people frequently marry civilians. When two people in the military marry each other, their ability to live as a couple can sometimes clash with the military’s need to rotate people from one base to another.
